ZIP code locations and place names

Postal codes mapped to their geographical coordinates (latitude/longitude in WGS84) and administrative hierarchies, for the United States and Puerto Rico. The GeoNames geographical database provides worldwide postal code data with associated geographical and administrative information.

Historical snapshot first contributed to vega-datasets in 2017 and no longer current. Administrative boundaries have been redrawn, counties reorganized and renamed, and postal codes modified. Latitude/longitude coordinates have been updated by Geonames since this data was collected. For current postal code data, refer to the main GeoNames database.
